CHESTERFIELD FOOTBALL CLUB
Client: Chesterfield FC Community Trust
Value: £1 million
Chesterfield FC’s new Community Hub was opened following the award of a £350,000 grant from the Premier League Community Facility Fund (PLCFF).
Following Chesterfield FC’s move to their new home, the Proact Stadium, the Club decided to focus on the wider development of the community programme by creating a new independent Trust - the Chesterfield FC Community Trust (CFCCT). The East Stand was allocated to the CFCCT to develop in to a Hub in order to increase community interaction.
The new facilities have helped the club realise its aspirations of providing a wide range of sporting activities to the community, increasing participation of young people and under-represented groups in community sport and promoting community cohesion through sport.
Chesterfield’s new Hub, designed by WMA, consists of a variety of sporting and physical activity facilities. Included are an indoor sports hall, a gym, changing rooms, a healthy eating café, a soft play area, as well as a hydrotherapy pool, changing places facilities and commercial office facilities.
